If you go into avast it should say somewhere about web exclusions in the settings, just paste the url of the roo in there. I did that and it still doesn't work

the biggest cause of problems on the Roo is hot linking copying the URL of the pic and posting it instead of saving the pic to your computer and uploading it I have spent a good portion of the last 2 days going through posts trying to see if there are any hot links that could be the problem, so far, my search has turned up nothing, not even in the Word Games section which goes hand in hand with Norton not finding anything
however, my research on that red alert page has turned up plenty according to Google's transparency report on the main forums page, the Roo has been flagged for "social engineering" and is flagged as a deceptive site, meaning there MIGHT BE someone on the Roo who will try to trick you into clicking on a link and/or downloading a program to "fix" your computer
it also says that it takes the owner and knowledge of something I have no knowledge of to get it remedied 3 emails to jokaroo and Wojjie have gone unanswered but I'm gonna keep trying, I think Wojjie can run a scan and find any problem pretty quickly the trick is getting him to do it without pissing him (or Chris) off we went without Christmas on the Roo last year, I don't want to go through that again
I just need ya'll to keep the faith!
as for my risk taking in going on the Roo, I don't think there's any risk there has been no newbies coming in and posting links, those posts would go into moderation automatically and be promptly dealt with by our mod squad there's a part of me that wonders (since Google says Jokeroo was reported as an unsafe site) if there's someone with a grudge against the Roo behind it I've been on the Roo for the last 3 days, and I'm still standing nobody's drained my bank account or hacked my emails but I can't guarantee the Roo is 100% safe, that's just my belief so ultimately, the decision is yours as to whether you want to take the chance or notThank you dear Squirt for all the info & I did tried Explorer and I still got the red alert so I disable my Avast to see if I could get in and I could so now I know it's my protection keeping me from getting in, I can't disable my protection or I'd be wide open for anything.. It nice to see you just wish it wasn't under these condition...God I hope something can fix it for us...

Right,I'll explain my theory on it all. The roo has been hacked by a phishing scam and it's in the words and quizzes as far as me and LMP can ascertain. Today I tried to access the roo via my mobile/cell phone and was redirected to a file sharing site, then lo and behold a warning appeared saying my phone was infected with the four virus and I needed to download an app to remove it. I was then given the url of Google play store (which is the trusted android app site) at this point it didn't smell right so I went on my computer and tried the google play store and it was a completely different url. I put it into the Norton forum and they said it wants you to download the app which then can access your passwords etc. So I do believe if you are not using a phone then the roo is safe, also you are nearly always safe if you don't download or click on any link you're directed to. This may all be total bollocks but me and LMP have been spending quite a bit of time on it and it's the best I can come up with. Dear Kip I thank you and LMP for looking into it for us all but I can't even get in on my computer so now what? and what about the scan I ran and it said the roo url is an infected file

That is chrome's built in security that is showing you that alert not your own virus protection. Oops! All I know is what it tells me...this is what I see... I have the same thing as you MT and it says the same thing...if it was safe we wouldn't be getting this warning and their wouldn't be a red alert..and why would someone hack into the Roo in the first place up to no good and it's not worth the risk to fine out...I have to many things going wrong in my life already now this. all I want to ask is someone at the Roo going to look into it and clean it up for us???

Have patience, Laila! Some of us can't get in, but until it is fixed, NO ONE should be going there. I noticed my virus protection zaps it before it opens, but offers me a way to over-ride that. Why would I want to do that??? To me, some people are asking for trouble...but that is just my opinion. I do not have the tech help I used to have, so it is extra important to me to be safe. I can't get in either on my computer And I agree with you sweetie...

I ran my Virus scan yesterday of my whole computer files and when it was done I had 14 viruses that said Jokeroo infected high rise and today Manzy sent me a email were she copied & pasted kips statement from the Roo and when I open the email my virus program said email infected if everything is alright then why is it that I am having this problem? The Roo has been compromise and just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it's not there...I can't afford to lose my computer or having my identity stolen. look no one loves the roo more then me but someone needs to clean it up so we all can be safe...I can get on the roo with my cell phone but not like I could before but once I read Kip's comment about the phone I got out of there.. Please have someone look into things it's better to be safe then sorry...
